End native forest logging
The majestic mountain ash forests of Victoria are on the verge of collapse. These vast, ancient ecosystems are not only home to the world's tallest flowering plants, but also provide habitat for one of Australia's most endangered species, the Leadbeater’s possum. The forests are vital to Melbourne’s water catchment, store immense amounts of carbon, and are amongst the most biodiverse areas anywhere in Australia. They also hold immense, irreplaceable cultural and heritage value. And yet today they are still being needlessly cut down for woodchips, paper and pallets. The way ahead is clear. End native forest logging in Victoria’s Central Highlands and save this area for good, right now. The Great Forest National Park is a proposal that would see large, remnant pockets of old growth forest reconnected and protected for future generations, becoming a rich, ecological asset in Melbourne’s backyard.

This film series explores the life of a unique and precious ecosystem on the doorstep of Melbourne and advocates for why its biodiversity, water, and culture should be protected.
