Polyester

Polyester is naturally water repellent and performs well in the outdoors.

Why

We use polyester in most of our products, which mix both virgin and recycled materials. Polyester is a synthetic fiber derived from petroleum.

In 2015, the global production of polyester reached 52.8 million metric tons for the clothing industry alone.

Where We Are

We’re trying to decrease our dependence on virgin petroleum as a source of raw materials, so we have dramatically increased our use of recycled polyester. After we ran the numbers this season, we discovered we’d used more recycled polyester than any other fiber. We like finding ways to keep materials out of the landfill and in use.

What's Next

Our goal is to completely move away from using virgin polyester by 2025.
